WATCH: New Dissidia Final Fantasy Trailers Featuring Lightning And Y’Shtola

Dissidia Final Fantasy Trailers

Square Enix has been on a roll recently promoting Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT, its upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive fighting game featuring loads of hit heroes and villains from across the entire Final Fantasy series. The latest Dissidia Final Fantasy trailers that have been released by the Japanese publisher feature two of the (relatively) newer protagonists to the series, Lightning and Y’Shtola. Hailing respectively from Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV, the two fighters have very different fighting styles, with Lightning preferring quick attacks with her sword and Y’Shtola keeping to the back line and assaulting her enemies with black and white magic spells. Check out the new Dissidia Final Fantasy trailers below to see them both in action:

Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT marks a fairly significant departure from the original Dissidia games for the PSP, switching from a 1 versus 1 format to 3 versus 3.  That said, much of the other hand mechanics have stayed the same, with players utilizing brave attacks and HP attacks to defeat their enemies. The official breakdown from Square Enix can be seen below:

  • FINAL FANTASY, everything you could ever want – Over twenty playable FINAL FANTASY legends to play. Over ten iconic battle arenas. And legendary summons.
  • Welcome warrior, there’s a mode for all – A mode for every player, whether it’s competitive online matches or custom lobbies for friends only, offline matches versus AI, or training to learn and refine combat techniques.
  • The more you fight, the more you gain –After each battle, players will receive experience points and gil. With that, players can gain new skills and freely customize their character.
  • Only the brave survive – The bravery combat system allows a much deeper and more methodical approach to fighting games, separating luck from skill. The way to win is to garner bravery points before unleashing critical HP attacks against your opponent.
