The Dishonored 2 hype train continues to chug along as Bethesda releases their second trailer within a week. This one gives us a closer look at Empress Emily Kaldwin and her supernatural abilities . The Empress is one of the game’s two playable protagonists alongside Corvo Attano, the previous game’s hero and father/bodyguard to Emily herself. Both she and Corvo will be fully voiced which is in stark contrast to the game’s 2012 Game of The Year predecessor in which Corvo was completely silent.

The story of the game is set around 15 years after the events of the first Dishonored and centers around  Emily and Corvo’s fight to take back the throne which has been stolen by an “otherworldly usurper”.  Early on players will have to decide between the two protagonist which they will play as for the remainder of the game.

The father-daughter duo each have their own unique set of powers given to them via a mark by a mysterious being known as “The Outsider”. The AI of the game will also respond and react differently based on which character the player has chosen. Players, much like in the first game, will have the ability to play their way which can mean one of three options: going through the game on a murderous rampage, not killing a single soul, or by a combination of both. This time around instead of Dunwall’s repulsive rat infestation you’ll have to deal with nasty swarms of Blood Flies.
