From the Developer of Harvest Moon Comes a New Game to Challenge Your Creative Side (VIDEO)

Yasuhiro Wada, developer of the popular Harvest Moon games, is bringing us a new game called Birthdays the Beginning. It’s a “garden game in which players create cube-shaped worlds that give rise to diverse and unique lifeforms. Shape the geography and alter the temperature of each world to create the conditions for life and witness the birth of an entire ecosystem!” Looking at the trailer it appears to be pretty similar to the look of MineCraft (block like), but with dinosaurs and mammoths roaming everywhere. Birthdays the Beginning is a sandbox game where you can build worlds full of creatures and more. Experiment with the temperature and geography of each world to create entire unique ecosystems within the game.

Here are some key features listed on the Steam page:

  • Create any world you can imagine! From staggering mountains and sprawling forests to a deep sea dotted with islands, there’s no limit to your creations.
  • Discover the history of everything as you foster life of all shapes and sizes – from single-celled organisms to complex multicellular life, including plants, mammals, dinosaurs, and more!
  • Imagine, Experiment, Create! Shape your planet and decide how plant and animal life evolves. No two planets will ever be truly alike.

Here is a trailer for Birthdays the Beginning so that you can see examples of options and game play:

Birthdays the Beginning has 2 modes that you switch between throughout the game play. Build mode is where you create the world and Macro mode is where you fast forward time to watch creatures populate the world you have built.
