Detroit Become Human Releases Three New Character Trailers (VIDEO)

Quantic Dream, the developer of the PlayStation 4 exclusive title Detroit Become Human, have released three new trailers that highlight the character- and story-driven narrative. Juxtaposed to the often told idea of a post-apocalyptic society where artificial intelligence threatens to take over humanity, director David Cage wanted to showcase a different twist. Seen farther below, the new clips highlight the previously revealed Markus, Kara, and Connor. This time, however, we get a focused look into their personal stories.

Markus was an android caregiver to a famous painter named Carl Manfred, who was treated like an adored son. In his trailer, fans can watch the conversation that sparked the idea of a revolution hinged upon the desire for freedom. However, his path can be a tumultuous and violent one or one of pacifism and resolve. “He must choose a path between violence and pacifism, between a closed fist and an outstretched hand,” explains Cage. “Through his choices, Markus will write the history of his people and lead them to freedom… or destruction.”

Kara is sporting a bold new look with grey hair in her personal trailer and otherwise showcases a conversation between her and the child Alice. Though there are several outcomes for this duo, one of them is highlighted here with Alice having been saved and the two are on the run to create a better life for themselves.

Connor is a prototype “detective assistant” android built specifically to assist police investigators on any cyber-related incidents. In addition to regular AI like him, he comes equipped with several add-on features that allow himself to mold his personality, a molecule analyzer, and determination to match. He must learn to maneuver apprehensive coworkers like Lieutenant  Hank Anderson, and find out why deviant androids exist.

Detroit Become Human debuts March 25th, 2018 for PlayStation 4. What are your thoughts on the three new trailers?
