Guillermo del Toro Will Arrange Meeting with Ron Perlman and Mike Mignola to Discuss Hellboy 3
Famed director Guillermo del Toro has got the hype train rolling for the possibility of another Hellboy film. Thanks to the modern technology of social media, del Toro took to Twitter to ask if fans were ready to see Big Red return to the big screen. As you might imagine, the fans have spoken, and Hellboy 3 may be underway.
Guillermo del Toro posted a pair of tweets on January 18 telling fans that if his poll got over 100,000 votes in 24 hours, he would have a sit down with the other two key people in the Hellboy films- Mike Mignola and Ron Perlman. Mike Mignola, who is the creator of the Hellboy comics, worked very closely in the production of the first two films as well as a handful of animated features. As many are aware, Ron Perlman has undoubtedly owned the roll of the supernatural super hero in the films as well as lent his voice in the animated titles.
The HELLBOY III is our chance to vote the right way in 2017! If 100k votes come in 24 hours I promise to have a sit down w Da Perl & Mignola

The fans did not let the director down. Over 130,000 votes came through and del Toro, with much excitement, intends to keep good on his word. He will arrange a sit down with Perlman and Mignola to discuss the future of Big Red. This does not guarantee that a third feature film will be made, but it is definitely a step in the right direction.
We have gone past the 100K votes. I will arrange the sitdown w Ron & Mignola to talk HBIII. No gurantee but we will discuss. Wish us luck!!

The films’ director is not the only one that has a passion for the character and movies. Actor Ron Perlman has also longed for the third installment. In a September 2015 interview, Perlman stated:
“Guillermo told me what the resolve of the trilogy would look like, in broad strokes, and it’s such an amazingly theatrical, cinematic idea, that I found it essential that we do it. We were designed to be a trilogy, with a beginning, a middle and an end. We’ve only done two-thirds, so I feel that we’re not really done until we finish it.”
During that same interview, Perlman went on to give some insight as to what we might come to expect in the film. As fans will recall, at the end of Hellboy II: The Golden Army, it is revealed that Hellboy and Liz Sherman (Selma Blair) are expecting twins:
“I’ll tell you this, the two twins: one would look like the mum and one would look like the dad. And one of them was going to be completely fucking corrupt, the other one angelic. Which one was which? Only Guillermo would make the fucked-up-looking one be the angel. So then that adds to the saga.”
The future of the third film is ultimately still undecided, but the hope for its fruition is strong among fans and the key players involved in making the dream a reality. Be sure to stay tuned with DFTG as more (hopefully good) news unfolds for Hellboy 3. Are you hopeful for the third installment? Are you a fan of the movies and/or comics?
