What a week for Cyberpunk 2077. Yesterday revealed the public release of an almost hour long of in-engine gameplay by CD Projekt Red and it stunned onlookers with its grungy, colorful, and futuristic visuals. The combat is fast-paced and uses a first-person perspective for an increased sense of immersion as a role-playing title. Of course, there’s more to the game than what is seen at first glance. In fact, there’s a little easter egg that makes a witty reference to The Witcher 3.

Seen below, a hawk-eyed Reddit user found a tiny easter egg that can be seen on the loading screen before gameplay. It’s a string of code that can be translated to “Is the Witcher 3 the best?” in the Polish language, and it can imply a few different meanings. Perhaps CDPR wants to challenge themselves and the notion that the Witcher 3 or the franchise itself is the best they have to offer. Perhaps they want to take things up a notch with Cyberpunk 2077…or it could be a funnier one in reference to a YouTube video by Klocuch.

According to other Redditors on the thread, Klocuch created a video that parodied journalism headlines in regards to The Witcher 3. It’s easy to surmise that developer CDPR is a fan of Klocuch’s work, or they’re legitimately asking the hardball question. Either way, there’s no confirmation from CD Projekt Red themselves, but it’s an interesting piece of information to know.
