Former Castlevania Developer Would Love To Create Another Game

Castlevania Symphony of the Night

Castlevania fans have been treated to quite a bit as of late, with the collection being released last month across PC and consoles, as well as the hit Netflix series going stong. That said, fans will always want more of that glorious action, and as it turns out, so does a former developer.

Former Castlevania dev Koji Igarashi recently spoke with Eurogamer about his new game, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Of course, it didn’t take long for the popular series to be brought up, especially since it is a big part of Igarashi’s history when he was with Konami. When asked if the opportunity popped up to create another entry in the franchise, Igarashi had this to say:

If I had the opportunity, I’d do it. Castlevania is one of those games – when my game came out in 1999, that game still has staying power, it’s still interesting, it’s still very popular.”

Having worked on over a dozen Castlevania titles during his time at Konami, which he left in 2014, Igarashi would definitely be a solid choice to have work on another entry. Then again, that’s if he and Konami could come to an agreement of sorts. Either way, it would be interesting to see that happen at some point.

As for the time being, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
