BITTEN: A Zombie Survival Micro-Game Kickstarter
Grim Games launched a Kickstarter for a micro-game called Bitten a few days ago, and they’ve already exceeded their goal. Since November 4th, they have raised well over two-thousand dollars over their pledge of $500.00.
Bitten is micro-game intended for 2 to 4 players. More players can be included with additional copies of the game. Give and take a few cards. What is a micro-game you ask? Much like an economist, the answer may vary between persons you ask. However, it is typically understood as a board-game ‘kit’ – a miniature board game, if you will. However, in this case, it is referring to a mini card game – relative to the number of cards needed to have oodles of fun.
The gist of the it is this: you and your friends have 5 minutes to discover which one has been bitten by a zombie. And, on each turn, a player may choose to draw or play a card.
All players are nestled in an encampment in an attempt to discover which player is infected. The tainted individual must be killed before the horde of zombies rattling outside manage to breach. After 5 minutes, if the infected ally has not been discovered, the newly zombified player gets to eat everyone’s brains, along with the horde they now belong to. This requires the use of one’s imagination!
Alternatively, you have managed to collect a food ration, a weapon, a water ration, and a vehicle to escape this screwed up situation altogether. But there are only enough resources for ONE person to do so. And each player has the opportunity to steal another player’s resources, minimizing their chances for freedom. Naturally. What is a board game if it doesn’t try to destroy the delicate bonds of friendship? It wouldn’t be a board game at all.
Grim Games will be taking donations for another 27 days. Once Bitten debuts, each deck will run you $13.00. Be sure to check out their Kickstarter page.
