Beyond Good and Evil 2 Won’t be at E3 – News Coming “Sometime This Year”

Beyond Good and Evil 2

The Ubisoft sequel that fans have been waiting on for the better part of the last decade, Beyond Good and Evil 2, is still on the table. With this year’s E3 just around the corner, fans are curious whether or not they will see the title at the Expo. The game’s creator Michel Ancel has an answer, but it may not be the one that was hoped for.

On a post made by Ancel on Instagram, a fan asked if there would be anything from Beyond Good and Evil 2 brought to E3, in which he replied:

“Not sure that E3 would be the best place to showcase Bg&e2 but were working on the game so sometime this year you should hear about it !”

That may not be the response that fans were hoping for, but it isn’t bad news. In fact, if looking at things in a “glass half full” scenario, the game will be talked about this year. That could mean a plethora of different things, but nevertheless, fans can remain hopeful.

The game was announced back in 2008 and has faced quite a few issues since. The team wanted to add a variety of aspects into the sequel that were originally intended for the first game. These included things like space travel and planetary exploration. Their ambitions superseded their available technology at the time, so the team moved on to working on Rayman titles. Back in October of last year, Ancel posted:

Not much has been heard about the title since then, so Ancel’s latest comments have given fans plenty of hope. E3 may not be graced with the presence of Beyond Good and Evil 2, but at least we can rest assured that it is still coming. Now to try desperately to wait patiently. In the mean time, the first Beyond Good and Evil is available on Xbox One via backwards compatibility.
