Star Wars Battlefront II Space Battles to be Shown at Gamescom 2017
One of the many highly-anticipated title’s set to release this year is EA and DICE’s Star Wars Batllefront II. With the promise of a plethora of changes and additions from the last Battlefront, fans are eagerly awaiting to get their galaxy far, far away battles on. Later this month at Gamescom 2017, the developers are planning to show off a new trailer as well as some gameplay of the multiplayer space battles featured within the game.
EA took to their official blog to invite Star Wars Battlefront fans to watch their presentation at this year’s Gamescom. The company plans to reveal a brand new trailer, as well as some live gameplay of the space battles mode known as Starfighter Assault. The presentation begins on August 21st at 9:30am PT.
The blog post set the stage for what can be expected during their live presentation:
Teams will face off in a swirling dogfight in the Fondor: Imperial Shipyard map, weaving around an Imperial Star Destroyer complete with speedy fighters, thundering bombers, distinct hero ships, and more. Will the brave pilots of the Rebel Alliance triumph against the Imperial Navy, or will the intrepid aces of the Galactic Empire foil the insurgents’ plans?”
The new space battle system, a.k.a. Starfighter Assault, will feature a new class-based system, upgraded controls, and customization options. Bundled together with the other improvements including a single player campaign, Star Wars Battlefront II is shaping up to be a title worth getting excited about. The game’s beta begins on October 6th, or October 4th if you’ve pre-ordered, and will feature Starfighter Assault and Galactic Assault modes.
Star Wars Battlefront II is slated for a November 17th, 2017 release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
