Battlefield V Dev Banned From Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 (VIDEO)

Battlefield V Dev Banned From Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 (VIDEO)

An all new entry in the Battlefield series is on trajectory for release next month, and the shooter’s arrival will almost certainly go head-to-head with fellow firearm frenzy Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. While the two games are poised to be in competition, Battlefield V developer Florian Le Bihan nonetheless found himself in the throes of Black Ops 4’s popular multiplayer.

However, the experience was cut short recently when Le Bihan saw his account banned from multiplayer without explanation. Upon discovering his shut-out from online matches, the DICE developer called upon Call of Duty’s Treyarch to amend the situation, but nothing would result from this one post alone.

Le Bihan, a former pro player, quickly figured his extreme FPS skill was what could’ve triggered the swift ban, premising Call of Duty’s automated exploit-detecting software was unable to differentiate it from legitamate cheating. When the ban continued to hold, Le Bihan proceeded to compile a video proving his kill-crazy prowess in Black Ops 4. Check it out below.

Fortunately, everything turned up alright in the end. It wasn’t too long before Treyarch finally responded and restored Le Bihan’s account to freely resume his multiplayer murder spree. The dev celebrated the news with a hearty gif as well as offer a few low-key pointers for future bug fixes and patches.

Now that balance has been achieved, all would seem right in the world as Battlefield V inches toward release. The game is set to offer a single-player campaign, one that portrays a number of events from the other side of fight from the German perspective. While this solo aspect differs from ‘Black Ops 4’, Battlefield V also has a battle royale mode on the way, but it won’t see a full launch until 2019. Battlefield V will be available from PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One on November 20th.

What do you think? Are you glad to see a happy ending to the ban? Does Call of Duty need to update their cheat-detection system, or was this just an anomaly?
