Apex Legends Season 4 Introduces New Legend Revenant (VIDEO)
As of late, Respawn Entertainment has been gearing up for a new season of their futuristic battle royale title Apex Legends, with several additions coming as part of the approaching Season 4 titled ‘Assimilation.’ While a few of these features were detailed in a developer stream not too long ago, the biggest inclusion of the update has now made his violent introduction, a new playable Legend by the name of Revenant.
As shown off in a stunning new trailer, fans are given a decidedly intense look at Revenant’s day-to-day life as a mechanized assassin. The action-packed footage provides a showcase of the debuting character’s moves, the hitman mowing through multiple enemies with enhanced strength, impaling foes with his dagger-like arm, and shifting into a cloud of smoke to avoid damage. Check out the trailer below alongside an official description.
Revenant used to be human. He was the greatest hitman the Mercenary Syndicate ever had. But when his programming eventually failed, he saw what Hammond Robotics had turned him into: a walking nightmare of steel and vestigial flesh. The return of Hammond Robotics to the Outlands has renewed his thirst for vengeance, and he won’t stop until they’re all dead. Of course, he doesn’t mind eviscerating a few Legends along the way.”
This deadly introduction of Revenant is sure to be surprising for fans as it was only days prior when Respawn hyped up a wholly different character in debuting brawler Forge. Information regarding the close-combat fighter was teased to be unveiled in the coming days, but his arrival was decidedly cut short after the shocking events of a recent video appeared online. The footage reveals that Forge has been brutally assassinated by Revenant, leaving the character’s roster debut very much on the cutting room floor.
Apex Legends is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Season 4: Assimilation starts next week on February 4th.
What do you think? Are you wowed by this intense showcase of Revenant, or are you bummed that the assassin took out Forge before Season 4 even happened?
