Apex Legends’ Crypto Officially Revealed In Season 3 Announcement (VIDEO)
Respawn’s battle royale shooter Apex Legends has been teasing a new character reveal for a little while now, with speculation first mounting when an intriguing leak all-but-confirmed a new Legend by the name Crypto. All the rumors can now be put to rest as the game has now been confirmed the hacker character as the next Legend to join the fight in Apex Legends.
Crypto was officially unveiled in a new character-focused “Stories from the Outlands” trailer, where the hacker’s origins were officially laid out in a typically animated fashion. The footage depicts his tech-savvy use of gadgets and surveillance drones to get the advantage in a fight. Check out the video below alongside the official description.

Crypto is scheduled to go live on October 1st as part of Apex Legends Season 3–dubbed “Meltdown”–the proceedings kicking off alongside an all-new battle pass. According to EA, inclusions of the pass are made up with “over 100 exclusive items including Legendary skins, Apex Packs, new Battle Pass content making a Season 3 debut, and more.” Season 3 will also see the Charge Rifle introduced, an energy weapon that fans of Titanfall may find particularly familiar. More was teased to be revealed as Season 3 gets closer to release.
Apex Legends is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Season 3: Meltdown starts on October 1st.
