First Psychonauts 2 Trailer Debuts At The Game Awards (VIDEO)

Psychonauts 2 First Trailer

Tonight’s Game Awards event has been loaded with new game announcements and updates on previously announced titles. One that was announced at The Game Awards was Psychonauts 2, the long-awaited sequel to the classic Double Fine game. It was first announced in 2015, but has remained relatively silent on the news update front since. However, that changes now, as the Psychonauts 2 first trailer has finally been released, giving us our first look at the return of Raz and his friends.

As seen during the event, the first official Psychonauts 2 trailer has finally been released by Starbreeze Studios and Double Fine Productions. The video features Ford Cruller retelling the story of Raz, the protagonist of the first Psychonauts, with the aforementioned character present to hear and interject. It seems that Raz and friends will be leaving the Whispering Rock camp from the first game, and heading to the Mother Lobe, where they will become psychic super spies. They will also uncover new secrets and hidden dangers during their adventures.

We also get our first look at gameplay in this trailer, with the mind-bending puzzle platforming in the worlds of various subjects’ minds that made the original so special. The trailer ends with the reveal of a returning threat, and a confirmation of an expected 2019 release for the game. The sequel certainly looks like it will maintain the spirit of the original game, with the benefit of modern technology. What a dream come true!
