During E3 2014, Playdead announced their follow-up title to 2010’s critically-acclaimed Limbo. At the time, it would have been difficult to imagine something worthy of following the game, but when Inside arrived in 2016, it proved to be successful in nearly every way. The dark and mysterious spiritual successor to Limbo was released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One to all sorts of critical acclaim, and it looks like it will be making its debut on the Nintendo Switch and iOS soon.

Playdead’s Arnt Jensen was recently touring Japan and having dinner with a few distinguished figures. One such feast was with Japanese magazine Famitsu and The Last Guardian composer Takeshi Furukawa. It is here where Jensen disclosed information regarding Inside coming to the Switch.

No other details were provided about the game being ported to the portable console and iOS devices. The price might remain the same, but a release date is completely up in the air. After all, there’s no telling how long Playdead has been working on bringing Inside to Nintendo’s newest system and elsewhere, so we’ll have to wait and see when Switch owners can get their hands on it.

Also making an appearance during Playdead’s travels were The Last Guardian creator Fumito Ueda and Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima. Whether their meeting was business oriented or if they were simply enjoying a meal amongst friends, whatever may come of it is sure to be glorious.

Inside is currently available on PC(Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for $19.99. While it may be a short adventure, it has proven to be a powerful one. Bringing the title to a new audience on the Nintendo Switch will only broaden the reach of its thought-provoking darkness.
