After an eternity of waiting, Super Troopers fans have something to celebrate. Well, we’ll still be waiting for the sequel to be released, but at least we now know how long that wait will be. Recently speaking with Seven Days, Steve Lemme revealed a host of details about Super Troopers 2, including the release date.

Without actually stating the date, we are all picking up what he is laying down. “There is, but I can’t tell you what it is. Here’s what I can tell you: It’s springtime and there’s a very obvious date, which happens to fall on a Friday this year,” Lemme stated when asked if there happened to be a release date. To save you time from looking at a calendar, April 20 indeed falls on a Friday in 2018. For those playing at home, that is 4/20 – obvious enough? The Broken Lizard team officially confirmed the announcement on their Indiegogo page:

Our long wait in the cold is finally over.  Well, not over, but the end is in sight. Super Troopers 2 will be hitting theaters in wide release on… ahem… 4.20.18.

We just wanted to let you know first before Fox makes the announcement later today. Without you, there would be no sequel, and we damned well know that.

So, start rolling, packing or vaping, because we want you in the right mood for when the teaser trailer drops.

Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske, Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, and Paul Soter will all be returning to their roles as Vermont troopers in the highly anticipated sequel. The project raised over $4.6 million in their fundraising efforts to assist in production of the film, which recently wrapped. Fans are sure to be excited that a release date is now known, so grab those bottles of syrup and start chugging!
