The Last Of Us Part II Release Date Possibly Revealed By Ashley Johnson (VIDEO)

Part II Release date

Another E3 has come and gone, and with it came a respectable amount of big game announcements and updates on projects coming in the near future. However, a glaring absence was felt this year as Sony opted to refrain from appearing at this year’s event. As such, there were no updates given this past week on the big upcoming first party PS4 games, such as Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part II. While Death Stranding has its release date revealed shortly before E3 began, there is still no official release date for The Last of Us Part II. However, an actor may have let slip when this date might be.

Ashley Johnson, the actor behind Ellie in The Last of Us, is also well known to those in nerdy circles as a cast member of the popular Critical Role tabletop gaming show. She was recently interviewed as a part of Critical Role’s “Between the Sheets” series on the show’s official YouTube channel. While acknowledging that Johnson can’t reveal too much about The Last of Us Part II, the interviewer asks when she thinks the game might be made available to the public. Johnson seems to almost say “February” before being cut off by the interviewer, which would imply a February 2020 release date.

This lines up with some previous reports from sources such as Kotaku which also stated that the game would be launching next February. If this release window is the actual case, it should hopefully be confirmed some time within the next few months, perhaps at an event like Gamescom this August. Whatever the case, it does seem like the game is well under way, and the wait should hopefully be not much longer. Our cries and clicks will hopefully not go unanswered.
