Resident Evil: Vendetta Gets a New English Dubbed Trailer Featuring Leon (VIDEO)
Capcom’s long running horror series, Resident Evil (RE), is getting a new CG animated movie next year. The movie, Titled Resident Evil: Vendetta, will be released in Japan this coming spring. Fan favorite, Leon Kennedy, will be returning as a the lead in the upcoming animated sci-fi horror. Leon will be accompanied by Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, who was in the first RE game as well as the prequel, Resident Evil Zero. Check out the new trailer below:
Vendetta is written by Psycho-Pass writer, Makoto Fukami, and directed by Takanori Tsujimoto, who has directed such films as Bushido Man and One Gun Story. The 3D animated film is slated for a May 27, 2017 release in Japan with a US release at a later date in the year. This marks the third CG animated RE film. The first was 2008’s Resident Evil: Degeneration which was followed by 2012’s Resident Evil: Damnation.
Better known in Japan as Biohazard, the RE series has become a staple in the horror genre. The animated features are separate from the live-action films starring Milla Jovovich, and are more in tune with the events that take place throughout the video games, while the live-action movies stray quite a bit. The next film starring Jovovich releases January 27. Also coming in January is the next entry into the video game series, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
