The Disney film based on Madeleine L’Engle’s 1963 novel, A Wrinkle in Time, has finally received a trailer at the D23 Expo and it will give viewers the chills! The adaption by Ava DuVernay features the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, and Storm Reid. The group all sat together to speak about the film, but first the trailer:

Disney has really stepped it up and when asked what made her want to create this movie, DuVernay says, “The thing that attracted me to the project is that I saw myself in it. I saw so many different people in it.” Winfrey agreed and says that her role was impossible to refuse,

“I had not read the book either, and when Ava mentioned it to me and told me it was a character that is one of the wisest woman in the universe and is an angelic, celestial being, and [to] work with amazing costumes and work with Reese and Mindy as part of the Mrs. team, who wouldn’t say no to that?”

Pine said that he was drawn to DuVernay and that it was, “within five minutes of meeting Ava that I knew I was going to do it. Ava thinks in this way that is very, very special. I think people will really respond to it.”

The story of A Wrinkle in Time is about a girl named Meg Murry who crosses space with her brother and best friend in order to find her physicist father who is missing with an important secret. The Disney film is set for release on March 9th of 2018.
