New Titanfall Project In the Works, Respawn Now Hiring
Ever since Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment became a part of Electronic Arts, a new entry in the mech shooter franchise has seemed to drift further and further away, especially as the studio is currently in the midst of a huge new Star Wars project. A supposed Titanfall 3 has nonetheless been the subject of speculation, with a report from earlier this year suggesting a threequel was very much in the works.
According to a handful of new job openings, it looks as though the notion of a fresh Titanfall adventure may be closer than we think. Hiring in the areas of Art, Software Development, Quality Verification, and Game Design, Respawn has posted several Titanfall-related positions such as Senior Technical Animator and Build & Release Manager. The heft of available work would seem to suggest something is indeed on the way to the Titanfall universe, but exactly what right now remains a mystery.
It’s possible this could be a welcome new content update for Titanfall 2, but this unannounced project is much more likely to be an all-new entry to the series. A new mainline entry could be a probable outcome considering Respawn’s stated investment in the series’ future, as is the previously announced VR project based on the series. Only time will tell and more is sure to be learned as we head into 2019.
