World of Tanks Official APAC Tournament Begins This Week

official APAC tournament

Wargaming.net League’s Season two has begun, pooling teams from the Asia-Pacific region to compete in World of Tanks Official APAC Tournament! This special event starts this week for teams who have entered. The competition is a triple round-robin competition with a whopping $200,000 USD prize at stake.

Last year saw the team EL Gaming winning the first World of Tanks official APAC tournament, going undefeated. Not only did this net them the grand prize of that year, but it also allotted them access to the “Challengers Rumble” in New York City. They will be frontlining for the APAC seed B-gaming and defending their championship!

American and German players can begin tryouts and playoffs this year as well in their own tournament. February 1st marks the start of the tryout event, and will run until February 5th. The American team will be up against the German team, a veritable battle royale of tanks and prizes will be awarded on February 6th to the winners.

The America/German tournament allows participation to any player who completes the tryouts. The player will select their team they wish to join, but once chosen they cannot switch sides. Regular or premium tier III vehicles will be available for use in the competition. Once the tryouts are passed, playoffs will be unlocked and they can rake in the extra XP, silver, and a chance at the final prize!

The World of Tanks official APAC tournament will see 12 of the top teams competing for the that brass ring. Eight teams have already been given the chance to return again this year, leaving four slots to be filled. Those four teams will be chosen from the winners of the four regions of APAC. Which ever team beats the  other 12, takes home the cash. Check out a full schedule and season progression in the gallery below:

This year marks the first year that teams will compete in the Grand Finals in Moscow. If you’re interested in watching these teams go at it, you can catch it all live on Wargaming.net League’s Twitch. The league also has an official website if you wanted more of the details surrounding this epic event. Careful not to get too immersed, you may find yourself in this world with all of these tanks. It’ll almost be like you’re in a World of Tanks.
