Super Smash Bros. Player Investigated Following Shooting Threats

Super Smash Bros.

A top Super Smash Bros. player is currently being investigated following threats to shoot a rival player were recently made. According to The Blast, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call from local competitive store Game Nest about the player making threats not only to another person, but also everyone in the store.

Recent screenshots of 21-year-old Jacob “JK” Johnson making the threats were tweeted out by YouTuber Keemstar. They show the Facebook messages that JK sent to another competitive player, threatening to shoot them when they saw them again, blow up their grandfather’s house, and more. Check it out for yourself below:

This isn’t the first time JK has been linked to aggression, however, as Game Nest banned him earlier this month over previous incidents. This includes an attempt to run over other competitors with his vehicle, which JK later described as a “bad publicity stunt.” According to the Game Nest Owner, he seems like a “good kid,” but one who has come under pressure to be a good competitor. Of course, this is no excuse for acting out in violence and threatening to shoot someone or blow up a house.

“We always try and promote safety, not violence, and don’t allow guns in the store,” said the owner. “It’s a huge scare for us and a serious offense and even though I know some players might not take the threats seriously, we just can’t risk having him inside the store.”

The investigation is ongoing, but keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we learn more. If it’s other gaming goodness going on that you’re looking for, check out the following:
