Spelunky 2 Heading To Steam Later This Month

Spelunky 2 Steam Release Date

It’s been 12 years since Spelunky took the platforming world by storm with its randomly generated adventures, and with the highly anticipated sequel just around the corner, fans are excited to dive back in for more. That said, we knew that PS4 players would be getting the title soon, but we now know exactly when Spelunky 2 is heading to PC.

Derek Yu recently took to Twitter to inform fans that a date has been set for Spelunky 2’s PC release. Fans were quick to point out their worries that the post may have been announcing a delay for the PS4 version of the game, but to the surprise of many, the tweet was simply meant to let everyone know that the sequel will be arriving on Steam on September 29th.

“Spelunky 2’s world is even denser than the one in the original game, offering many more areas, characters, traps, and items, as well as new ways to interact with them (and for them to interact with each other),” reads the official description. “The world has expanded in other ways, too, with branching paths and multi-layered levels adding a third dimension to the classic 2d platforming. Animals can also be tamed and ridden. And dynamic liquid physics create new challenges and make the world feel extra reactive and alive.”

Spelunky 2 will be launching on September 15th for PlayStation 4, with the Steam version arriving a couple of weeks later on September 29th. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
