As is sometimes the case with many a gamer, the world of digital and tabletop gaming both hold a special place in their hearts. Fans of the Civilization series have something to get excited about with Sid Meier’s Civilization A New Dawn conquering tabletops this year. That’s right, a board game version of the strategy series fans know and love is on its way.

Sid Meier’s Civilization A New Dawn will be bringing the strategy empire building game to the comfort of one’s home. Two to four friends will have the opportunity to play as historical figures on a quest for total domination. Much like the video game, players will have options on how they can conquer the world.

Winning the game will be just as challenging, with participants competing to be the greatest civilization on the map. In order to accomplish this lofty goal, players will have to meet the requirements of agenda cards that detail the conditions for victory. A New Dawn will require one to prioritize goals and balance his or her empire in order to succeed, much akin to the video game.

Players will have to meet one condition on each victory card in play (typically 3 cards) to conquer the map and win the game. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this, leaving combatants to strategize on how they will make it happen. A New Dawn will be coming out in Quarter 4 of 2017 for $49.95 and can be pre-ordered at Fantasy Flight Games or anywhere you prefer to get your board games.
