Rogue One Character Saw Gerrera Crosses Over Into Star Wars Rebels

Saw Gerrera first made his debut into the Star Wars universe in Star Wars The Clone Wars as an Onderon freedom fighter, and according to the Clone Wars narrative, Gerrera was trained by Obi-Wan Kanobi, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. Gerrera is the first Star Wars character introduced in an animated series to make the transition to the live action screen and was portrayed by Forrest Whitaker in Rogue One. According to a poster spotted by the Twitter account Rebels Reactions it looks as if Saw Gerrera is making his way into the third season of Star Wars Rebels.

As you can see, we are looking at a much younger Saw Gerrera as the events of Star Wars Rebels takes place years before the start of Rogue One. However it is not outside the realm of possibilities to speculate a connection being made with either Galen or a very very young Jyn Erso in the next season of Star Wars Rebels. As for Gerrera’s role in the upcoming season of Rebels, it is possible to presume that we may see events unfold that lead to an alliance of sorts between the Rebel Alliance and Gerrera’s band. We can also speculate that perhaps Gerrera is already allied with the Rebels and we may get a chance to look into the events that transpire causing a rift between Gerrera and the Rebel Alliance. We really can only speculate until the next season premiers on January 7th 2017.

In the meantime hit us up in the comments section with your thoughts on Gerrera appearing in Rebels, or any other comments you have on all these Star Wars connections we are seeing being made.
