‘The Predator’ Begins Filming- First Cast Photo Revealed – Confirmed R Rating

The Predator

In 1987 action star Arnold Schwarzenegger faced off against one of the most terrifying and brutal aliens to have had appeared on the big screen in Predator. The race of alien hunters that tormented Arnie returned for two sequels, two crossover films with the Alien franchise, a handful of video game appearances, and a comic book series. Thirty years after the original film hit theaters, the next entry into the sci-fi action horror franchise, The Predator has officially begun shooting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Taking the helm of the highly anticipated 20th Century Fox film is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron ManDirector, Shane Black. Not only is Black directing the movie, but helped write the screenplay as well. The film’s director took to Twitter to announce that the film was officially shooting and provided the first cast photo. In the photo, are actors Sterling K. Brown (This is Us, The People vs OJ Simpson), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight, Westworld), Boyd Holbrook (Logan, Gone Girl), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse, New Girl), Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu, Key & Peele), and 10-year-old Jacob Tremblay (Room).

As fans of the franchise are aware, the Predator movies are often full of gratuitous violence and brutal deaths. The humanoid aliens are apex hunters that travel from planet to planet to sharpen their skills as hunters. In the films, their ideal prey are the humans of Earth. The species thrives on the honor of the hunt, and by collecting trophies in the form of skulls and spines earn their place among the alphas on their home planet. With a brutal on-screen presence fans were getting worried when rumors began that the new film would be rated PG-13. Black decapitated the rumors with another post on Twitter:
