PlayStation Plus Unveils PS5 And PS4 Launch Games, More To Come

PlayStation Plus PS5 PS4 Games

Following a similar blueprint to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, Sony is gearing up to re-launch its all-new PlayStation Plus service, combining its signature subscription with the streaming might of PS Now to form an updated three-tiered membership model. On top of consolidating its two main services into one, the new PS Plus will also introduce an expanded library of first and third-party games available to download or stream at a moment’s notice.

Since announcing the new PlayStation Plus service in March, Sony has been hesitant to divulge the extent of its downloadable library, which is teased to house “up to 400” popular PS4 and PS5 games as well as “up to 340” titles from the classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP systems. While that still appears to be the case, the blue brand has taken to the PS Blog to unveil “some of the games” that will grace the service when it officially goes live next month.

As listed below, just over 81 PS4 and PS5 games have been confirmed to be available at launch including such first-party classics as Returnal, God of War, and Marvel’s Spider-Man (Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding is also suspiciously listed among them). More than a few third-party games were also confirmed as well, including Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Mortal Kombat 11, and NBA 2K22. The deal also comes with select Ubisoft titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, as per a new partnership with fellow subscription service Ubisoft Plus.

As of now, PS Plus doesn’t have very many confirmed for launch yet, but all the listed game trials can be viewed below.

As noted by Sony, the full scope of available games will be revealed upon the launch of the new PS Plus. After that, the catalog will “continue to refresh and evolve over time,” suggesting games will regularly join and depart the service in a similar manner to Xbox Game Pass. These so-called “refreshes” are scheduled to occur “in the middle of each month” bringing a ‘varying number’ of new downloadable and streamable titles to members of PS Plus Extra and Premium.

The new PlayStation Plus launches in North America on June 13th.
