Nintendo Switch May Launch YouTube App Next Week

Nintendo Switch

With the Nintendo Switch quickly approaching its second year on the mark, the company is putting some focus on what it offers fans in terms of applications. While other console players have enjoyed access to plenty of video apps, the Switch has fallen behind in this category. It would seem, however, that Nintendo hasn’t completely dismissed their fans desires and looking to bring YouTube to their list of offered services.

A year ago, Nintendo added Hulu support, however not much by way of video streaming on the Nintendo Switch has happened since. It seems as if the company is starting a trend as their official site has indicated that their eShop would launch YouTube next week. Aat present, those indications only appear to be possibilities and not actuality at this time.

Certain pages of their website offer a “you might also like…” section that now has a YouTube icon among other services. Clicking the icon doesn’t lead to anywhere, however, it is indicated that the App is coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 8th. That means, if this leak is correct then console owners can expect to be streaming their favorite vine compilations as early as Thursday.

Without an official statement, this is still a bit speculative. Fans may take solace in the fact that Yoshi’s Crafted World was leaked in a similar way which might give some truth to the deadline. Ultimately, Nintendo Switch owners will know for sure on the 8th if the app will arrive next week.
