New Timesplitters Game Planned As Deep Silver Opens New Studio
It has been over 16 years since a new entry in the Timesplitters series arrived, but that hasn’t stopped some fans from wondering if a new game would arrive at some point. This was especially true after the IP was picked up by THQ Nordic. That said, Deep Silver has officially announced that there are plans in motion for a new installment, starting with the reformation of Free Radical Design.
In a recent post on Deep Silver’s official Twitter, it was revealed that a new studio was being formed under their umbrella. Their sole purpose (as far as we know): bring back Timesplitters. “You asked and we listened,” reads the post. “We have been working on plans to bring the Timesplitters franchise back to life, and are pleased to let you know that we are setting up a new Deep Silver development studio to do just that. Free Radical Design is reforming and will be headed up by industry and Timesplitters veterans, Steve Ellis and David Doak.”

The developers are then sure to note that actual development on the Timesplitters game has not yet begun, but they will update fans as soon as there is something to share. Of course, this is all exciting for fans of the popular series, and we can only hope that we will begin to see and hear more later this year or early 2022. Either way, more Timesplitters is seemingly happening and that’s a good thing.
