New Console On The Way To Rival Xbox And PlayStation, First Details

Fake PlayStation 5 Video Goes Viral, But We Wish It Were Real (VIDEO)

The next generation of console gaming is closely approaching whether anyone feels it’s too early or not, and there’s already an exciting forecast of what gamers can expect when the shift finally happens. However, there’s plenty of variables this extended speculation can not predict, one of them being the emergence of a hot new console to rival the big three that currently dominate the market.

According to Project CARS 2 developer Slightly Mad Studios, their upcoming hardware is attempting to accomplish just that. Revealing initial details with Variety, Bell laid out a bit of what they have planned for their inaugural console, the goal being for it to be a contending platform alongside the likes of Xbox and PlayStation.

It will support most major VR headsets and those upcoming and the specs will be equivalent to a ‘very fast PC 2 years from now’. We’re in early talks with manufacturers of components so we can’t say much more right now other than we have the designs specced out in detail.”

The dubbed “Mad Box” console made it’s first reveal over Twitter, where Bell informed the world that the formidable new console was very much on its way. Over the social media platform, the in-development hardware promised to have intriguing capabilities like 4K resolution, virtual reality, and 60 FPS as standard features as well as a free full engine for studios to develop.

What do you think? Are you excited about what the Mad Box can do, or are you skeptical about whether these promises can be delivered for a new console?
