New Code Vein Details Explain How Players Will Control Their Vampiric Hunger
Bandai Namco’s upcoming JRPG seems to get increasingly more brutal with each piece of information that is learned. With something akin to the Dark Souls franchise being touted, the vampire-based title is certainly looking to be one for the ages. Thankfully, new Code Vein details have recently appeared, showing off just how players will be able to control their hunger for human blood.
The way that players will be able to get a handle on their vampiric ways will be through the powers of Blood Tears, a peculiar fruit that contains a liquid capable of keeping the lust for blood at a distance. These peculiar treats will help you along your way and keep you from becoming one of the Lost. The new Code Vein details also state that these fruits grow on Blood Tear Springs, “which sprout suddenly whenever a Revenant is on the brink of demise.”
Players will be able to deposit some of their own blood into these plants to keep the fruit-producers alive, but with the miasma damaging them, finding Blood Tears will become more and more difficult as time goes on. What is much easier to find, however, is a bit more on the upcoming Bandai Namco title:
In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood. Give into the bloodlust fully and risk becoming one of the Lost, fiendish ghouls devoid of any remaining humanity. Wandering aimlessly in search of blood, the Lost will stop at nothing to satisfy their hunger. Team up and embark on a journey to the ends of hell to unlock your past and escape your living nightmare in CODE VEIN.”
Code Vein is currently without a release date, but it is expected to arrive at some point in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and “Console.” Are they referring to or hinting at a Switch release?
