Moons of Madness

Whether the premise and ambiance of Moons of Madness speaks to lovers of H.P Lovecraft, or those with an affinity toward thrilling horror games, the launch is right around the corner. Arriving later this month, Cthulhu in space heads to PC. Taking place on Mars, players step into the shoes of Shane Newehart, an engineer stationed on the red planet and completely oblivious to the dangers that hide in the shadows. Check out the launch date announcement trailer below:

Moons of Madness is a first-person horror game that intertwines science fiction and mystery, driven by a compelling and spine-tingling story. Here’s part of the complex synopsis:

You are Shane Newehart, an engineer stationed at Trailblazer Alpha and your security clearance means you are completely unaware of the existence of the mysterious signal. Your job is simply to keep the lights on until the transport ship Cyrano arrives bringing with it a new team to take over your duties.

Soon you discover strange and unusual setbacks. Crucial systems are malfunctioning, the greenhouse is filled with a strange mist and the rest of your team has yet to return from their EVA mission. Things are starting to fall apart. You begin seeing and hearing things that aren’t there. Visions, hallucinations – or is that even what it is? Is this real… or are you slowly descending into madness?

From the sounds of it, Moons of Madness is comparable to Amnesia. Players will surrender themselves to various sights and sounds for a horrific, immersive experience. Are the in-game encounters hallucinations of an engineer gone mad or is there something abominable waiting to spell your demise? Regardless, it sounds like the perfect game for the month of October.
