Captain America Director is Working on the Latest Chronicles of Narnia Film
Jumanji, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Jurassic Park III, October Sky, Hidalgo, and Captain America: The First Solider – what do these films have in common? They all share a Director named Joe Johnston and his current gig just so happens to be the latest in the Chronicles of Narnia series, Narnia: The Silver Chair. Johnston won’t be the only big name to work on the upcoming film, Mark Gordon will be producing the movie and he is best known for his work on the TV shows Criminal Minds and Grey’s Anatomy. Gordon had nothing but praises for the new Director, stating that Johnston was the perfect choice for the job.
“Joe is a wonderful storyteller who is equally at home in the biggest franchises and the most intimate character pieces. Because C.S. Lewis’ story is iconic and epic, but also tender, personal, and emotional, he’s the perfect choice to bring ‘The Silver Chair’ to the screen.”
Narnia: The Silver Chair will be a little different than the first trilogy, which combined grossed more than $1.6 billion worldwide, in that instead of following the Pevensie siblings, this new movie will follow their cousin Eustace Scrubb. Their cousin made an appearance in the last film Voyage of the Dawn Treader and was played by Will Poulter (Maze Runner, The Revenant, We’re the Millers), but it has not been confirmed yet whether he will return to that role or be replaced by someone else.
