Friday the 13th is a franchise that most of have grown up with. The fear of Jason Voorhees walking in, with his hockey mask on and a knife ready to butcher us has haunted our childhoodwith numerous books, films, and even an NES game that came out back in 1989. Well, Jason has returned to us yet again in Friday the 13th: The Game.
Developers Gun Media Inc. have been releasing videos on their YouTube page in the past, but have not have not displayed what multiplayer has looked like until now. We get a small chance to take a look at what the multiplayer game play will look like when you and you and fellow gamers take to Higgins Haven and strive to escape the menacing Jason as he pursuits you. take a look:
From the first look, it appears that you and you other camp counselors are scattered about the map working together to accomplish a set of tasks in order to escape being slaughtered. You can either escape in a car or wait for the police to arrive and escape with them. You can also call Tommy Jarvis to the scene for assistance. We can definitely tell teamwork and communication are a necessity as players work together to gather the necessary items and bring them to a common objective to escape.
The gameplay shows an extended amount of footage from the survivors’ point of view but doesn’t give much insight on how Jason is played. From the looks of it, he will have a teleportation mechanic as well as a grappling feature to choke out your victims. We look forward to seeing what Gun Media has in store for us on that aspect as well as everything the game has to offer to bring back our childhood fears.
Look for the game to be released to Xbox One, PS4, and PC in the first quarter of 2017.
