Frostpunk made its revealed in 2017 and has since garnered a wealth of success when it went live last year. With one downloadable content under their belt already, the team at 11 Bit Studios prepares for their biggest DLC yet. To kick off the commencement of 2020 on the right foot, The last Autumn arrives January 1st, 2020 to expand the Frostpunk universe with a prequel story, new book of laws, buildings, and more. Check out the announcement trailer below:

“The Last Autumn is a turning point in the Frostpunk universe,” reads the summary for Frostpunk: The Last Autumn. “Revealing the restless events of Site 113 and its struggle to construct the generator before the freezing veil shrouds the Earth, this prequel expansion broadens the Frostpunk universe by introducing a new environment, new Books of Laws and unique technologies, and presents a range of new buildings — all of which let you shape society and the city in unconventional ways. Leading a group of engineers working on one of the world’s greatest technological marvels – a Generator – will require adapting your strategy to extraordinary situations. As the leader of Site 113, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. For Queen and Country!”

The Last Autumn features a variety of advanced survival strategies, a new environment “not yet covered by snow,” uncommon, steam-powered technology, a new Book of Laws, a prequel story, and buildings. According to 11 Bit Studios, this expansion vastly expands the universe with game-changing mechanics and a deeper dive into Frostpunk’s lore and story.

After that, the studio plans on releasing another DLC in 2020 titled Project TVADGYCGJR. More information on that will be revealed at the lunch of The Last Autumn. If you’re loving Frostpunk so far and looking forward to the upcoming DLC, check out the season pass for $24.49.
