More Free Watch Dogs 2 Content Coming Your Way with DLC Plan Changes from Ubisoft
Ubisoft announced on their official blog recently that some big changes are being made to initial plans for Watch Dogs 2 content in the “No Compromise” DLC. While the dates still prioritize the PlayStation 4 console coming to gamers on April 18th, with Xbox One and PC will see it on May 18th, modifications toward what is included in purchased and free content will be made. Namely, multiplayer modes such as “Showdown” will be available for everyone and not just Season Pass holders or those who have the means to buy DLCs.
Kris Young, Watch Dogs 2 Live Producer, explains the reason behind making more content free for players:
There are two main drivers behind making Showd0wn free for all of our players. The first is that we want everyone to be able to participate and play it. We really wanted to have as many people as possible playing the mode for a better challenge, better matchmaking time and quality, and a healthier, more active community. The other is community feedback we’ve received since we announced the original plans.
Our community asked for more multiplayer content, and that’s also a reason why we’ve decided to make Showd0wn accessible for free for all players, while replacing it with more single-player content in No Compromise.
So, for those who intend to purchase the DLC for Watch Dogs 2 content, you will still receive their money’s worth. Instead of just losing out on multiplayer as part of the package, you’ll get additional campaign gameplay. That sounds like a win-win for anyone involved. Ubisoft includes a timeline of complimentary beverages and snacks like the “Paintball Rifle”, new clothes, “Motocross, Ekart and Drone races in multiplayer” and that’s just for April!
