Final Fantasy VII Remake Screenshot Leaked, Updated Boss Revealed

Final Fantasy VII

Square Enix hasn’t given fans much of a taste of the Final Fantasy VII Remake lately, leaving some thirsty for more. A recent post on the Square Enix recruitment page may well have given fans an unintentional look at the game, essentially leaking photo. While it isn’t much, it does show that the team is still working hard at it.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake leak was first noted by Twitter user DKHF, who posted the image early Monday morning. The photo features a boss battle that hasn’t been seen before. This marks the first time fans are seeing an early-game Final Fantasy VII boss in the engine. Cloud is also visible in the image, and you can see for yourself below:

The Final Fantasy VII boss featured is “Airbuster”, the techno-soldier brainchild of Shinra R&D’s most twisted minds. In the original version of the game, players face off against this boss in the Sector 5 Mako Reactor. Airbuster is the first boss players face as a team of three.

There hasn’t been a new Final Fantasy VII remake image in months, and it is hard to tell if the company did this deliberately or not. One thing is for certain, Airbuster has gone through some considerable changes and the excitement will certainly be on the rise for more reveals. Perhaps fans will get another peek at E3 this year, but only time will tell.

What are some other fan hopes for the remake of one of the most popular installments in the franchise? Join in on the conversation in the comments section below! Don’t forget to follow DFTG on Twitter for live gaming and entertainment news 24/7!
