Cyberpunk 2077 Confirmed for No Beta Period

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is likely on the mind of many gamers, especially ever since the reveal of the glorious gameplay demo last year. That said, we still don’t know when we will be able to get our hands on the highly-anticipated title, but it looks like we’ll be waiting even longer, as there will be no beta period.

One fan recently asked the developers if the game will be open or closed during its alpha and beta periods, but CDPR dealt a blow to those hoping to get a taste of Night City prior to release.

While the developer says that they have no plans to release a testing phase for the game, it might as well be a dagger through the heart of every fan wishing to play Cyberpunk 2077. Okay, that’s a bit overdramatic, but you get the idea. We all just want to traverse Night City and do our very best in the future.

Of course, the idea of a beta isn’t exactly what it used to be. These days, one might think the testing phases developers hold for their games, especially when so close to the actual release, are more along the lines of a promotion for a title rather than an actual test to ensure everything is in order. Not saying that is always the case, but gone are the days of getting your hands on a game months ahead of release to provide quality feedback to the devs.

Cyberpunk 2077 is still without a release date, but is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
