Cyberpunk 2077: Ex-Counter-Strike Pro Helping With Gun Combat

Cyberpunk 2077

The hype for Cyberpunk 2077 has only continued to grow since CD Projekt RED showed up big at this year’s E3. Sure, press members at both E3 and Gamescom were treated to the demo, which CDPR just revealed worldwide, but the developer has also been kind enough to keep those anticipating the game informed.

During Gamescom last week, a few members of the Cyberpunk 2077 team took to the stage to field some questions. This led to them mentioning that a former Counter-Strike pro had joined the development team, with the purpose of working on gun combat. As we already know, the highly-anticipated RPG will be primarily in first-person view, and an ex-CS pro on the team, we imagine the shooting mechanics will be exceptional.

What the developers did not reveal, however, was who the former CS pro is. Thankfully, the internet is full of gumshoes, which led to the finding of a 2016 tweet from former CDPR dev Damien Monnier. Check it out below:

The video is of said former Counter-Strike pro Łukasz “LUq” Wnęk playing DOOM and showing off his impressive aim while slaying demons. While CDPR hasn’t confirmed that LUq is the gun combat specialist they’ve brought aboard for Cyberpunk 2077, there is a strong possibility that this is the case. We’ll just have to wait and see until the developer decides to reveal such information.

Speaking of glorious details, the day has finally arrived – Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay has seen the light of day. The 48-minute demo that was shown to press during E3 and Gamescom was broadcast to the world on Twitch, and fans are beyond delighted. You can check that out right here.

Cyberpunk 2077 is still without a release date, but we can expect to see it arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One at some point in the (hopefully) not too distant future.
