M. Night Shyamalan on the Crypt Keeper New Unofficial Teaser Trailer – “A Dark Walt Disney” (VIDEO)

A couple of unofficial teaser trailers for the upcoming remake of Tales from the Crypt have mysteriously emerged online. Neither TNT or M. Night Shyamalan posted these awesome looking trailers, but they are definitely getting us pumped for the new show. They don’t give a whole lot of info on the show and they don’t show the new Crypt Keeper, but we’re excited just the same. The first video shows Shyamalan talking about the show and of course, the beloved Crypt Keeper, while clips from different horror movies and shows flash on the screen.

Shyamalan says that it was the dark and ironic tone of the original that drew him to make this revamped Tales from the Crypt. The original played on HBO from 1989 through 1996 and it was based on the comic series from EC Comics in the 50s. He says that the Crypt Keeper will of course be a big part of the show and will draw us in like a “dark Walt Disney”. TNT announced the partnership with M. Night Shyamalan in April of last year for not just Tales from the Crypt, which will be the main focus of the evening, but also 2 new shows called Time of Death, an anthology show, and Creatures. Shyamalan will oversee the remake of Tales from the Crypt, but he is also serving as narrator and curator for the whole block.

The next video looks pretty authentic and even includes the Crypt Keeper’s signature laugh. There isn’t an official release date for the horror block yet, and these videos are not direct from the source so they might be fan made, but we still enjoyed them. We can’t wait to see the new Crypt Keeper and see what M. Night Shyamalan can do with it! What about you?
