Crackdown 3 Expected Late 2017, Confirmed 4K on Scorpio
A few tidbits regarding Crackdown 3 have come down the pike; including a 2017 release window and confirmed playability in 4K on Xbox One’s Project Scorpio.
There hasn’t been much news about Crackdown 3 lately. The last we heard about it was a few months ago when the open world game’s release had been pushed back from late-2016 to a vague “2017”.
According to Microsoft Studios art director Dave Johnson, fans of the series will finally get to play the new game in late 2017, “or earlier”. He also made the reveal that the game will run natively in 4K on Xbox One’s updated Project Scorpio console. This claim is in line with Microsoft’s earlier promise to develop all newer Xbox One games with 4K resolution in mind.
Since both Crackdown 3 and Scorpio are both tentatively set for release during holiday 2017, it wouldn’t be too crazy to assume the game may be a launch title for the new system. This wouldn’t be a bad move on Microsoft’s part, as the Crackdown series signature full-scale destruction could show off Project Scorpio’s upgraded visual capabilities extremely well.
Are you looking forward to Crackdown 3? Does the concept of 100% destructible environments sound awesome or played-out?
