Amazon Deal of the Day – Gamer Edition: Polk Audio Striker P1 Gaming Headset
It is the holiday season – some are officially over, some are still in progress but for most of them? That means gift cards and sweet, sweet loot. Grandma gave you a little extra spending money than you thought? Amazon runs special daily deals all of the time and we thought we’d help out gamers with what deals are out there as we close out 2016. Today’s deal? The Polk Audio Striker P1 Gaming Headset (orange) by Polk Audio.
Polk Audio has been in the business for 40 years and knows a thing or two about solid audio quality. Today’s deal features a headset that is designed to be comfortable with its lightweight structure, thick cushioning, and pivoting cups to adjust to the individual wearer.
The drivers themselves are 40mm that utilise Polk’s “Dynamic Balance” driver design specific to this brand. Inline controls to adjust volume at will, and multipurpose for movies, games, and music gives this headset a pretty good reason to be added to any gamer’s set up. It is also important to note that this particular set up is compatible with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Wii-U gaming systems as well as a normal port for smartphones and laptops.
Is it the best on the market? No – there are headsets that retail for up to $300, price points and quality often interchange (though not always), but it is a fantastic product for its price point. The overall consensus with this particular headset is that the sound quality and comfort levels are astronomical, but a few have complained about the sturdiness of the product itself. Many reviews were 5 out of 5 stars on the Amazon rating scale but the few that rated it lower, that was the common factor. Even still, one review even stated “I like the electronics in the headset enough that I would take another chance on another set, as long as a new model is sturdier”.
