Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Discuss The Challenges With Adapting It From The Tabletop RPG (VIDEO)

Cyberpunk 2077

This year might see the unveiling of Cyberpunk 2077 information that fans have been adamant about learning. That said, PlayStation has teamed up with CD Projekt RED once again to dive into the process behind the highly-anticipated title, including the challenges that have popped up along the way.

In the video, CDPR co-founder Marcin Iwinski and community lead Marcin Momot discussed some behind-the-scenes details regarding Cyberpunk 2077. Iwinski mentioned how last year’s E3 was the most stressful time of his life. This was likely due to the fact that they were revealed the best look at the game yet during the event, which they eventually revealed to the public with the beautiful gameplay demo.

Momot went on to talk about the delay between the first reveal and last year spectacle, and the challenges they encountered along the way. While the open-world adventure presented in Cyberpunk 2077 will be pretty to look, it just won’t offer the same freedom that can be found in Cyberpunk 2020, but it will be close. One thing they were adamant about, however, was making sure the player character was fully customizable, which is certainly a deviation from what they are used to in The Witcher franchise with the iconic Geralt of Rivia.

In addition to this, with the development process taking as long as it has, the devs have had to kill off ideas only to bring them back, and then kill them a second time… just to bring them back again. Needless to say, it has been quite the journey for the Cyberpunk 2077 team, but everything seems to be falling into place. According to narrator Doug Cockle, the game is still on track to come out… “when it’s ready.”
