Fortnite Mobile Version Announced, Cross-Play With PC And Consoles Confirmed

Fortnite Mobile

Fortnite‘s Battle Royale mode provides a thrilling bout of murder for many of those who play on PC or consoles, but the challenging shooter experience has remained out of the realm of mobile gaming until now. As part of a recent announcement, the development team announced a Fortnite mobile game for iOS and Android, aiming to provide the same survival experience we all know, but with the added ability to play on-the-go.

This new version of Fortnite was emphasized as being a true port of the original, containing the “same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates”, as well as the infamously massive 100-player matches. a “partnership with [their] friends at Sony” was also mentioned, confirming cross-play and cross-progression between mobile users and players on PlayStation 4 as well as Xbox One, PC, and Mac.

Those with iOS devices will be able to sign up for the upcoming Invite Event starting on Monday, March 12th, while Android users will be treated to the game “in the next few months.” Those selected from the first round of invites will gain access to the Fortnite mobile game through the App Store, with more regular invites being planned by Epic over the coming months. Those who find themselves wanting an invite can head to the official website after March 12th to register.
