NeoGAF Owner Facing More Sexual Harassment Accusations As Site Implodes

NeoGAF owner

With the recent advent of the #metoo campaign, in which women are sharing stories of assault and harassment, more prominent figures in varied industries are being outed for their abhorrent behavior. The campaign was meant to shed light on the prevalence of these situations so that those privileged enough to not experience them would know how widespread the problem is. In one such instance, NeoGAF owner Tyler Malka aka Evilore has been accused of sexual assault again.

The NeoGAF owner has been accused on more than one occasion, having even been cited as allegedly boasting about nonconsensual groping of women. This most recent accusation has caused Malka to move on the site, shutting down conversations about the incident on the forums. This has caused several moderators to leave the site, and for a time the gaming forum was even shut down to try and halt the wave of threads on the subject.

NeoGAF owner

This all began with the above Facebook post. While there aren’t names given, a little journalistic digging reveals evidence that this is indeed leveled at the NeoGAF owner. While some may claim that you can’t believe everything you read on the internet, this evidence shows the legitimacy of the claim. Here is what the user had to say:

Guess I should chime in since I’m being named. In a private group convo, one of my fellow participants brought up the fact that EL got #MeToo’d on FB. I saw someone on my feed telling a story an hour prior that could’ve fit but I didn’t read it too closely, was skeptical and posted a shot in our convo.. I was then directed toward the comments and lo and behold, there was the name. Was a holy shit moment for me, and something of a letdown too, having met both the accuser and the accused IRL. Posted that shot in our convo as well. Came to the realization that this should only really go public if the accuser wants it to because it’s her story to tell, and the rest of the participants in the convo reached the same consensus, or so it seemed. I deleted the shots from our group chat. Turned out one of the people in there saved the shots, and gave them to another person who then posted it on Voat, and did a godawful job at concealing the identity of the accuser and myself before doing so. She doesn’t deserve to get doxxed and harassed by the internet mob if she’s not ready for it, and it’s solely for that reason that I didn’t want this getting out there, which is why I regret sharing that shot in that group convo.

But yes, it’s real.”

This statement was released in response to a wave of speculation over whether or not the post was real after the original poster had taken it down. It seemed almost immediately after the statement was made the user was banned from the site. Since all of this took place several moderators have been leaving the popular forum site and includes Cyan, Xander Cage, Kabouter, and Besada. When the set was locked down moderators began stepping forward:

The subsequent meltdown of the site due to these accusations aren’t entirely surprising. The NeoGAF owner has been policing everything on the subject since it began, and those actions speak of a man off kilter. Many also note that Malka had a moderator who was arrested for child pornography. It is said they were associated, and while the owner did put distance between them, it had come to light that Malka was giving him donations. These users were also banned from the forum.

This story is still developing and more information will likely come to light. Whether Malka will continue to police the site or respond to these allegations remains to be seen, but for now, it would seem that NeoGAF and Malka are on the verge of a complete meltdown. At the rate things are going, there may not be any users left who can use the forum once the dust settles. Keep up with DFTG as we continue to follow this story.
