The US Department of Defense Shows Off Their Love for Dragon Ball Via Twitter
Dragon Ball is an extremely popular manga, anime, and video game series known worldwide for its colorful characters and spectacular fight scenes. The lead character Goku and his unshakable drive to be the world’s best fighter have made him a source of inspiration for many, including the men and women in the United States military. While it’s no surprise that individuals protecting the country would want to show their appreciation for Dragon Ball, it’s pretty unexpected for the US Department of Defense to straight-up quote the series.
In a Tweet by the official US Department of Defense Twitter account, Marines can be seen testing a rather explosive Carl Gustav rocket launcher in Queensland, Australia. While the image is a pretty stunning visual, it’s not outside the norm for the account to show off this kind of thing. What makes the post so remarkable was the addition of the phrase “KA-ME-HA-ME-HAAAAA!” in the post, the phrase used in Goku’s common finishing attack which sees the hero fire a large energy blast at his unlucky foes.

At a second glance, the Carl Gustav does resemble a Kamehameha wave, while powerful in its own right, has nowhere near the astronomical power level of Goku. Still, it’d be regrettable to be on the receiving end of either one of these attacks as we mere mortals wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between Goku’s or US Department of Defense’s Kamehameha.
