A new trailer for 20th Century Fox‘s Assassin’s Creed has surfaced giving us a glimpse of some high octane action.

The film is based on the hit video game series of the same title by Ubisoft. The movie does not coincide with any of the previously released Assassin’s Creed games, but offers anew story within the games’ universe. Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class, Inglorious Basterds) stars as Callum Lynch who through advanced technology and genetics can relive the adventures of his distant ancestor, Aguilar. The movie will take place in Callum’s present as well as 15th Century Spain during the Spanish Inquisition. Reliving the memories of Aguilar, Callum must learn the skills and knowledge of the Assassins to take on the Templars, a powerful and oppressive organization.
