E3 2020 Reportedly Cancelled Due To Coronavirus Concerns (UPDATED)
This year had so much promise going into it, with many expected game launches, reveals, new consoles, and much more. However, it seems the concerns regarding the coronavirus outbreak are slowly chipping away at this, with E3 2020 reportedly being the latest convention to be cancelled.
The gaming community grew suspicious when Devolver Digital tweeted “Cancel your E3 flights and hotels, y’all” late Tuesday night. While this could be seen as the studio making light of the situation in their usual fashion, it is very well possible that E3 2020 is actually being cancelled due to COVID-19. Bloomberg has reported that the ESA will be making a formal announcement later today (March 11th) that the expo is cancelled and that they will be looking into an online format for this summer.

This comes after the likes of GDC 2020 being postponed amid growing concerns over the virus outbreak as well as the likes of Coachella and SXSW. It is unknown at this time what will come of E3 2020, or the future of the expo, but we will likely learn more in the very near future.
