Death Stranding Online Modes Don’t Require PlayStation Plus
Just a little over a month remains between now and the release of the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive from Kojima Productions. While the footage revealed so far has shown mostly an isolated experience for players, Death Stranding is about building connections with others, including via online modes. That said, a PlayStation Plus subscription won’t be necessary for players to take advantage of these features.
Following the reveal of the Limited Edition Death Stranding PS4 Pro bundle, it was noticed by MP1st that the package for said bundle states that the game does not require PlayStation Plus. “Paid-for PlayStation Plus subscription required for online multiplayer,” it reads. “Sold separately. Death Stranding does not require PlayStation Plus subscription.”
Seeing as Death Stranding doesn’t really feature a traditional multiplayer experience, it isn’t too surprising that a PlayStation Plus subscription won’t be required to hop into the action. Speaking of which, in case you don’t know what to expect in the game, here is a short description:
“In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.”
Death Stranding is set to officially launch on November 8th for PlayStation 4. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
