Fans have been wanting more Dead Space for quite some time, but that isn’t exactly happening. However, what is happening is a new title from Striking Distance Studios, helmed by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield, and it’s a sci-fi horror survival game called The Callisto Protocol.

During The Game Awards ceremony, Schofield showed off The Callisto Protocol in all of its sci-fi horror glory. According to the description, the objective of the game is to survive and escape a hellish maximum security on Callisto, Jupiter’s moon, in 2320. For those wondering what exactly is going on in The Callisto Protocol, here’s a brief description from the game’s website:

“Set on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in the year 2320, The Callisto Protocol is a next generation take on survival horror. The game challenges players to escape the maximum security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets. A blend of horror, action, and immersive storytelling, the game aims to set a new bar for horror in interactive entertainment.”

The Callisto Protocol will be a story-driven, single-player experience that will surely offer off up some spooky times to get the heart pumping. No specific release date was offered, but it was noted that the game will be arriving in 2020 for PC and consoles.
